A Grand Day Out: Summer Art Adventures with the Grandkids

It’s that time again, school’s winding down, and summer stretches out ahead like a blank canvas. If you’re a grandparent, chances are you’ve been asked (or have volunteered!) to watch the grandkids for a few days while their parents juggle work or sneak away for a quick getaway.

We’ve heard from plenty of grandparents who are looking for fun, affordable ideas to make those days memorable. Maybe it’s a rainy afternoon or maybe everyone’s a little restless. But within minutes of walking into the studio, the table is covered in color, conversation is flowing, and something special begins to unfold.

We call it the Grand Day Out, a simple, meaningful way to spend time together, away from screens and full of creativity. It doesn’t matter if you’ve painted before or if the grandkids are more “scribblers” than “artists.” What matters is the experience. And yes, you’ll leave with artwork you’ll probably want to hang on the fridge, or maybe even frame.

We keep sessions affordable because we know how quickly summer activities can add up. And we’re always open to your ideas, if you’ve got a theme in mind, just let us know.

Oh, and while we’re talking summer plans:

Thursday Night Paint & Sip is officially a thing

Every Thursday evening, we open the studio just for grown-ups. Bring a beverage, bring a friend or family member, and enjoy a relaxed, creative night out. Whether you’re a beginner or just looking for something different to do, it’s a lovely way to unwind..
